How the 'recession' affects fashion magazines

...the rich stay rich and poor use more lip gloss.

This last article about the recession amused me. First, the 'lipstick' rule that women buy more during poor economic times hasn't held up...but then again there really isn't a recession, so does the rule still apply? I love it how the desginer brands don't even care about the economic problems, whereas the Wal-Marts and Sears of the world are the ones backing out of ad pages.

One good note for my company, from Carlos Lamadrid, vice president and publisher of Woman's Day:
